Catholic Scout Awards
Scouts receive Light of Christ and Parvuli Dei Awards
St. Michael's Church, Pack 178 Scouts were presented with there Catholic Scout awards by The Most Reverend Edgar M. da Cunha, Auxiliary Bishop of Newark. The Catholic Committee on Scouting of the Archdiocese of Newark welcomed the Scouts, their families and friends to honor the Scouts who worked hard to achieve there awards at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart. Congratulations to the boys and there leaders!
“Oh Lord, build me a Scout whose heart will be clear, whose goals will be high. A Scout who will master himself before he seeks to master others, one who will march into the future, yet never forget the past…”

WELCOME TO CUB SCOUT PACK 178
Since 1930, the Boy Scouts of America has helped younger boys through Cub Scouting. It is a year-round family program designed for boys who are in the first grade through fifth grade (or 7, 8, 9, and 10 years of age). Parents, leaders, and organizations work together to achieve the purposes of Cub Scouting. Currently, Cub Scouting is the largest of the BSA's three membership divisions. Pack 178 has been in operation for over sixty years. It continues to serve Cranford, NJ, by both contributing to the community as well as training the youth of that area to be good and responsible leaders for the community.

Great Job
The Pack meeting on Sunday went great. Glad so many of you could be there. The boys did a nice job assembling the sandwiches. With so many parent hands helping out too, we were able to donate 20 loaves of sandwiches to those less fortunate. The boys also had fun sorting through all our coat donations. We donated enough bags of coats to completely fill the back of the McGann's truck! Thank you all for your donations of coats....and a special thanks to Jen and Ron McGann for organizing the day.
